A rare matchday programme from Wolves' triumphant 1939 FA semi-final win over Grimsby is up for sale.

The programme, which cost twopence back in 1939, is on sale for £620.00 on online auction site Ebay, with time running out on bids tomorrow.

A total of 13 people are monitoring the programme on Ebay, but so far nobody has stumped up the asking price for the Wolves memorabilia.

The programme has been put up for sale by user 'agarys', who sells various other footballing memorabilia on the popular website.

The 1939 semi-final at Old Trafford saw Wolves romp home 5-0 winners, before they eventually lost 4-1 in the final against Portsmouth, the last FA cup final for seven years because of the outbreak of the Second World War.

Wolves' team that day on Saturday March 25 included legendary captain and later manager Stan Cullis, as well as his defensive partner and later managerial partner during Wolves' most successful spell ever as a club, Joe Gardiner.

Record-setting striker Dennis Wescott started up front.

Other names on the team sheet included goalkeeper Alex Scott, defenders Bill Morris, Frank Taylor and Tom Galley and forwards Teddy Maguire, Alex McIntosh, Dicky Dorsett and Jimmy Mullen.

Wolves were playing a 2-3-5 formation according to the match day programme, the same as their opponents Grimsby.

Grimsby's starting XI included legendary goalkeeper George Tweedy, a man who played only for the north-east club and who later went on to manage them.

Wolves played in their iconic old gold strip, while The Mariners were in their black and white stripes.

The matchday programme itself includes a breakdown of the teams and information about each individual player, a rundown of both teams reached the 1939 semi-final as well as a pre-match build up and a list of the music played on the day.

The front cover of the programme features an iconic drawing of a wolf, wearing a golden shirt on an otherwise black and white page.
