Two taken to hospital after Smethwick smash

Two men have been taken to hospital following a two-car crash in Smethwick.

Emergency services were called to Soho Way at around 11.15am following an accident between two cars.

One man, aged 39, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham after suffering a broken leg.

Another man, who's injuries were believed to be less serious, was taken to Sandwell Hospital.

Three ambulance crews attended the crash and the road was closed between Tollhouse Way and Grove Lane.

West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson Chris Kowalik said: "Three ambulance crews attended a two car collision at Soho Way around 11:15am.

"One man was a passenger in a car that appears to have overturned.

"He sustained a broken leg and a possible pelvic injury.

"Another man was taken to Sandwell Hospital."
