The United Patriots group want to take to the town centre on February 27 in a protest against militant Islam and immigration.

So far more than 100 people have signed up to the event on Facebook.

Yesterday, group leader Liam Walsall said: "I will be running the event for United Patriots.

"I want to say we will remain 100 per cent peaceful.

"We don't want to disrupt the town but we have been contacted by loads of people to hold this protest."

The announcement of the march comes just three months after the English Defence League held a march through the town.
