The Way is currently receiving delivery of the likes of pool tables and table tennis tables as it gears up for its opening next year.

The first groups are also starting to move into the building.

Alice Davey, the general manager at The Way, said: "In building terms we have delivered practical completion."

The Youth Zone is also offering open days and early sign ups to make sure everything will be running smoothly come the official opening.

The centre will open in January

Ms Davey added: "We have got some great opportunities coming up where people can sign up to be a member before the official opening to avoid queuing out the door on the day.

"These are taking place on Saturday December 5 and Saturday December 19 between 10am and 2pm.

"We're also having a disability open day on January 10, again between 10am and 2pm, where disabled groups and individuals can come along and get a feel for The Way and try out some of the equipment."

The youth zone also has an astroturf pitch next to it

Due to open officially on Saturday January 16, The Way will offer a one-stop all inclusive hub for children and teenagers in the city to socialise, play and even learn.

Situated just off Worcester Street, the new building will include a recording studio, all weather 4G pitch, gym, climbing wall and dance studio.

More than the activities, The Way is looking to help bring children together and teach them independence, even at a young age.

Their slogan will be 'somewhere to go, something to do, someone to talk to'.

It will be a no parents zone and the children and teenagers will have to make their own decisions between a £1 chocolate bar or a £1 healthy meal.
