Eight banned from Walsall Manor Hospital

Eight people were banned from Walsall Manor Hospital, with the exception of needing emergency treatment, in three months over violence and aggression against staff, bosses have revealed.

One alleged offender was reported to police and was remanded to court.

The figures show in July, August and September, seven red card 'exclusion letters' were issued to people, effectively excluding them from trust premises for a 12 month period.

Six yellow card warning letters were also issued to people.

She said: "The board has previously received reports on the level of violence and aggression that staff are subjected to whilst on duty.

"The number of clinical incidents that are associated with this has increased as the staff have recognised that the trust is taking action against people whose behaviour falls below that which we would expect."
