BUSTED: Police find £140k of Class A drugs in Walsall

Around £140,000 worth of drugs were taken off the streets after police intercepted a suspected drug deal in Walsall.

Officers searched a white Peugeot van in Margam Terrace, Bloxwich, after witnessing what they believed to be a drug exchange.

They found an estimated £140,000 worth of Class A drugs, believed to be cocaine.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and is currently in police custody.

His home was searched and £15,000 in cash was seized.

Sergeant David Simpson, from Walsall police, said: "This is a significant seizure of drugs which we are really pleased we have removed from the streets of Walsall.

"We take all reports of drug dealing very seriously. We know how much misery it can cause in our neighbourhoods, attracting an undesirable element and other criminality, and will take decisive action to stamp it out."

Officers came across the van at around 1.45pm yesterday.
