Traffic was stopped in both directions after the horse - which was trapped in a horsebox - was discovered shortly after 11.20am this morning.

The trapped horse has now been released and put back in his horsebox.

Crews had to build a wooden platform and sedate the horse during the rescue operation.

All lanes have now reopened between Junctions 10 and 10a.
