Man injured after handling chemicals

A man in his 50's has been taken to hospital after coming into contact with chemicals.

The incident happened at around 2.45pm this afternoon in Wolverhampton.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "A man handled a package/parcel and had a reaction as a result."

An ambulance, rapid response unit and the service's Hazard Area Response team attended the scene after an emergency call.

West Midlands Fire Service were also in attendance. The man has been taken to New Cross Hospital.
