Paul Cross, aged 55, was discovered slumped in Harrison Road, Bridgtown, at around 7.20pm last Thursday. He died in hospital the following day.

Police say they are treating his death as 'unexplained'. They are hoping the post mortem will shed more light on the reason for his collapse.

In the meantime they are trying to trace Mr Cross's movements on Thursday afternoon and are appealing for anyone who may have seen him on that day to get in touch.

The victim, who lived in Jerome Drive, Norton Canes, was found lying at the end of a gullyway which serves as a short-cut to Keble Close, off the A34 Walsall Road.

He had suffered head injuries and died later at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke.
