Light fitting sparks Wolverhampton house blaze

A blaze tore through the kitchen of a family home in Wolverhampton after a light fitting caught fire.

Fire crews were called to a semi-detached house in Poplar Avenue, Fallings Park, at 9.56pm last night, following reports of a fire.

They found the kitchen at the back of the house engulfed in flames. Firefighters spent one hour extinguishing the fire, which is thought to have caused by a faulty light fitting.

No one was injured during the blaze.
