Calls for action to replace barriers on Walsall road
Safety barriers on a main Walsall route labelled as a 'highway to hell' have still not been replaced amid fears someone could be hurt.
A section of the Black Country New Road in Moxley was damaged following an accident up to six months ago.
Councillor Doug James is now leading calls for immediate repairs and is to push for the council for action.
He said: "Despite being informed that an order had been placed to a contractor to build and fit replacement safety fencing the work has not been completed.
"This is not an effective, efficient, or acceptable Service. Both motorists and pedestrians remain at some risk." I am dismayed by the poor follow up from Highways. Local people deserve a better Service".
"The A41 is a very busy dual carriageway and this weakness in the safety barrier makes the road a Highway to Hell. This needs a full repair urgently."
