These are the words of Jaki Graham, who addressed students at the University of Wolverhampton as she was made a Pro Chancellor.

The singer already has an honourary degree from the university and will now be one of four Pro Chancellors who act as ambassadors.

Officially capped at yesterday's graduation for the university's education institute, Jaki told the crowd: "My darlings. Thank you so much everybody.

"I do a little bit, I do what I can, but it is your turn to go out and shine."

And with that, she burst into 'Ain't Nobody', much to the delight of the audience, who clapped and cheered.

Before he presented Jaki with her Pro Chancellor cap, Vice Chancellor Professor Geoff Layer said it was a privilege to share the important event with the graduates and their families.

He said: "Today is really about celebrating.

"It is about remembering and reflecting on all that you have done, all you have achieved, and being proud - and you need to be proud - of your dedication. Proud of your achievements. And proud of the life experiences you have gained along the way.

"You are the world leaders of tomorrow, and that is an incredible responsibility. You must shape and change the world to make sure it is the type of world you want your children, and your children's children, to grow up in.

"Search for every opportunity open to you, take every opportunity given to you, but most of all provide every opportunity you can for others. By doing this you will carry on the long tradition of the university you graduate from today."

The university's graduation ceremonies will be held at the Grand Theatre until next Friday.
