Wolverhampton singer and former X Factor star Joe Whelan and Britain's Got Talent impressionist Jon Clegg both took to the stage for the event in aid of Whizz Kidz.

The ball was held at Molineux and organised by Halesowen and Wolverhampton Audi as part of their relationship with the charity and £9,512.83 was raised.

Helen Hammond, dealership PA at Wolverhampton Audi, said: "We organised the event for the second year running, we have been supporting Whizz Kids as a charity for three years.

"It started last year and we did a summer ball and raised over £7,000."

The event was such a success that a second ball was planned for this year and 256 people turned out to the WV1 Restaurant on Saturday.

On the night, there was a raffle, games and an auction, with one of the prize up for grabs being the use of an Audi R8 for the weekend.

Helen said: "We were supported by local business who bought tables and donated prizes.

"The money that we have raised remains local and I think that is always a good thing.

"I would like to say a massive thank you. We couldn't do this without local businesses being involved."

The ball will also be held again next year on September 10 2016.

The Whizz Kidz charity provides mobility equipment to disabled children so they can live more independently, as well as running youth groups, wheelchair skills training, residential camps and work placements.
