She was not seriously hurt but was still taken to Dudley's Russells Hall Hospital as a precaution, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

A man who was also in the car did not require treatment.

The car's back left wheel was left wedged precariously on the wall. The drama happened just before 9.30am yesterday.

Crews from Dudley Fire Station were also called to make sure the vehicle was safe. The man and the woman had managed to get themselves out of the car before firefighters arrived.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent a rapid response paramedic and an ambulance to the scene.

West Midlands Fire Service spokesman Matthew Smith said: "We received a 999 call at 9.27am about a car crashing into a wall opposite Brockmoor Community Centre.

"One vehicle left the roadway and collided with a Virgin Media distribution box and a wall.

"One man and one woman had left the vehicle prior to our arrival. The female was checked over by paramedics and taken to Russells Hall for a precautionary check up.

"A representative from Virgin Media did attend to have a look at the distribution box. The vehicle was made safe and the police were in attendance."
