Dean Topham performed The Wonder of You in an hilarious scrapyard video alongside their son Wesley and Julie's brother Stan.

The 47-year-old from Great Barr faked a power cut during his wedding speech at the Fairlawns Hotel in Birmingham to make way for the video. Dean and Julie, also 47, have been together for 30 years but he jumped at the idea of the scrapyard serenade.

Dean, a manager at a car recycling company, said: "Julie was crying with laughter and couldn't catch a breath. thought it would be a laugh because it would save me from doing a real speech.

At first we thought that I would pretend I was too nervous to do the speech and I'd walk out but knowing my family, they would have all followed me out of the room and missed the video!"

Dean wanted everyone to stay in the room so they decided on a fake power cut to surprise the 80 guests.

Julie, a mobile hairdresser, said: "I was shocked. I wasn't expecting it at all but it was really sweet – I love Elvis and to see Dean singing my favourite Elvis song was really special."
