25 firefighters tackle Walsall factory blaze

Around 25 firefighters tackled a blaze close to a factory in the Black Country in the early hours of today.

Crews were called to Bridgeman Street in Walsall at 1.30am after a fire in a railway sleeper wall adjacent to a factory.

The factory was not damaged, but was affected by the heat of the fire.

Crews used two hose reels and one main jet to put out the blaze. Three fans were also in use.

Firefighters from Walsall, Bloxwich, Willenhall and Bilston attended.

Crews left the scene at 4.21am.

Elsewhere overnight a fire completely destroyed a structure being used as a private bar at a home in Pensnett.

Firefighters were called to the property in Common Side at 3am today, after the blaze in two wooden structures in the back garden, which were completely distorted.

Crews from Brierley Hill and Dudley attended and used two hose reels to put out the fire.

They left the scene at 5.06am.

The fire is believed to have been arson.
