A consultation is to be held over the proposals for Hay Head Farm in Longwood Lane, near Daisy Bank. The development by Wiltshire-based Solstice Renewables will generate enough electricity to power around 1,500 homes and save approximately 2,150 tons of carbon dioxide.

A consultation event for residents to share their views will take place at St Martin's Church, Daffodil Road, on August 5 from 4pm to 8pm.

Giovanni Maruca, director of Solstice Renewables, said: "Sheep will graze around the panels so the land can be used for food production as well as generating renewable electricity."
