Teenager charged over West Bromwich stabbing

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing another teenager in West Bromwich High Street.

The incident happened at around 12.40am on Tuesday near the town's bus station. The victim, also a 15-year-old boy, was taken to hospital.
West Midlands Police spokesman, Peter Edney, said his injuries were not life threatening and he is now recovering.
The boy accused, from Walsall, appeared at Sandwell Magistrates Court today and was remanded in custody. He will next appear at Walsall Magistrates Court on Monday.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact DS Leighton Shingles on 101 or to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
