They posted the news on the Team Margot Facebook page this morning, saying: "Margot would have loved her little brother, Digby who was born yesterday morning by c-section at 11:32, weighing 8lbs 10oz.

"We are delighted to welcome Digby into our family."

Proud dad Yaser Martini said they are thrilled that Digby has arrived.

"A new baby, a new focus, it is good for the family. We are in a good place," he said.

Big brothers Oscar, eight, and Rufus, almost seven, are very excited about having another little baby in the house too, he added.

"We are very happy."

Vicki had received an 'A star' from the obstetrician, he said, and is fit and ready to go home this afternoon.

The post on Facebook has already received thousands of 'likes', with hundreds of supporters leaving comments congratulating the family on Digby's arrival.

The couple's late daughter Margot, aged two, caught the public's imagination in a worldwide appeal for a bone marrow donor to help her overcome two rare forms of leukaemia. She died last October.

Margot's mother, Vicki, is from Essington, and she still has family living in and around Wolverhampton.
