Busy Wolverhampton road partly closed after smash between car and lorry

Part of a main route into Wolverhampton was closed this morning after a crash between a car and a lorry.

The accident, involving a Range Rover and an HGV, happened at St James Street at Horseley Fields at 10.27am.

The accident blocked one lane into the city centre.

Insp John Pickard said the Range Rover driver, in his 40s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

"There was substantial damage to the Range Rover and there was traffic disruption for a few minutes."

The road was open again after around 40 minutes.
