Tributes to inspirational Black Country mother who has died aged 32

Tributes have been paid to a brave mother-of-two whose dying wish came true when her favourite band UB40 paid her a surprise visit.

Nicola Moore, who hit the headlines when UB40 frontman Ali Campbell and fellow bandmate Astro visited her at Wolverhampton's Compton Hospice, has died aged 32.

Nicola, of Wordsley, was diagnosed with terminal cancer earlier this year. Following her diagnosis she compiled a bucket list with her ultimate wish to meet the lead singer of her favourite band. Her request attracted millions of views and thousands of shares on Facebook and within 24 hours Nicola had already ticked one item off her list after a surprise visit from UB40 frontman Ali Campbell and fellow bandmate Astro.

A statement on Compton Hospice's website from her family states: "On Friday, June 12, our beautiful daughter Nicola passed away. Our thanks go to everyone that helped to make Nicola's wish come true. Nicola was a brave and inspirational girl, she will be sorely missed."

Nicola's final wish was granted in April 2015 after her story was shared and seen by millions of people across the globe via social media. Nicola, mother to 12-year-old Chloe and 19-month-old Shyann, was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

After a dose of radiation treatment she received the news her cancer was terminal. With the help of Compton Hospice's PR and marketing officer Grace Ruston, Nicola posted her wish to meet UB40 on Facebook.

Within 24 hours the post had been viewed by 2.5 million people, and had been shared on Facebook more than 48,000 times.

Nicola described her meeting with Ali as 'life changing'.
