Two charged and four sentenced in Sandwell crime crackdown

Two people have been charged and four others sentenced in a crime crackdown across Sandwell borough.

The arrests were made as part of Spring Safer Six ? a Sandwell wide blitz on suspected drug dealers and associated crime.

Yesterday unemployed Edgar Miklis, 32, of no fixed address appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin. Following a brief appearance he was released on bail to re-appear before Birmingham Crown Court on June 23.

Jacob Fogoe, of Wyrley Road, Aston in Birmingham, has been charged with conspiracy to supply crack cocaine. The unemployed 22-year-old appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was released on bail to appear before Birmingham Crown Court on June 22.

These arrests mean that 63 people have now been arrested as part of the crime crackdown, with 60 charged.

Jeanette Harrison, 48, of Willow Drive, Cradley Heath appeared at Warley Magistrates Court on June 8, 2015, where she was handed a community order, ordered to pay £85 in court costs and was given a 14 day curfew after pleading guilty to producing cannabis at her first appearance on May 8, 2015.

Jonathan Rose, 32, of Wylde Cescent in Rowley Regis pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods at his first appearance at Birmingham Magistrates Court on May 13. He received a £95 fine with £100 court costs.

Ashley Howen, 29, of Lion Farm in Oldbury was sentenced to 18 weeks behind bars and fined £150 for handling stolen goods and theft.

He was also handed a criminal behaviour order banning him from associating with Jon Rose and entering parts of Rowley Regis when released from jail. This will be in force until further notice. He was sentenced at Warley Magistrates Court on May 27, having pleaded guilty to two counts of handling stolen goods and an unrelated theft matter at his first appearance on May 13, 2015.

Darren Attwell - also know as Darren Vincent, 31, of Southey Close in Willenhall was handed a 12 month community order, 12 month supervision order and a six month drug rehabilitation order.

Attwell was also given a three month-long curfew, a £60 victim surcharge fine and ordered to pay £145 costs. He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court for sentencing on June 8, having pleading guilty at his first appearance on May 15, 2015.

Gary Fletcher, 37, of Cumberland Road, West Bromwich appeared at Warley Magistrates Court on May 14, where he pleaded guilty to producing cannabis. He will be sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
