Adventure Forest Ltd has submitted an application to Wolverhampton City Council to take over the former Chubb Locks Custodial Service industrial unit on Well Lane.

The firm wants to transform the building into a trampoline-based play area called Air Space Freestyle Jumping.

It would be built around 100 interconnected trampolines, creating a large 'urban playground', and the facility would be one of the first of its kind in the country. At present, the only other Air Space centre is in East Kilbride, Glasgow.

As well as trampolining, the venue would allow people to play dodgeball, basketball and football on super-sprung pitches.

Approximately 80 jobs will be created if the plans go ahead, split equally between part-time and full-time positions in the play area and a logistics centre that would also be built to store and assemble equipment.

The application states: "There are positive benefits associated with the proposal.

"The proposed development promotes economic development resulting in new investment and employment generation in the area.

"It will result in approximately 80 new employment opportunities both within the leisure and logistics components of the proposed use."

It is believed a 60-minute session at the centre would cost in the region of £13.

Adventure Forest forms part of the group that includes Go Ape, one of the most popular outdoor adventure companies in the UK, which has recently set up a base at Cannock Chase.
