Police were called to The Nickeloden on Bentley Bridge and The New Pear Tree on Cannock Road within minutes of one another after each recieved a bomb threat by phone.

Police have launched an investigation as they believe the calls were made by the same person.

Officers arrived at each of the two scenes to find people evacuated from the buildings as the businesses ushered customers to safety.

West Midlands Police spokesman Billy Corrigan said: "A serious offence which has negatively impacted on hundreds of people has been committed.

"Work is now underway to find the person responsible.

"This includes working with phone companies to trace the caller.

"With this in mind, I would urge that person to come forward now and explain their actions before we come to them."
