Motorcyclist who died after Black Country Route crash named

A biker who died in a collision on the Black Country Route has been named as Scott Kilford.

The 34-year-old died after coming off the green Kawasaki bike he was riding just before 7pm at the Lunt island.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services to save him, Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the collision, police issued a plea for witnesses and for information about another motorcyclist spotted at the scene to come forward.

Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Since our appeal, we have received numerous calls from witnesses and I would like to thank them for contacting us.

"We have now also traced the other biker and we continue to investigate the cause of the collision which tragically claimed Scott's life. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this sad time."
