Hands up, who wants to do a charity Splatter Dash?

Crawling through nets and tunnels while being pelted with colour powder is the name of the game for fundraisers raising vital cash for a hospice in Stafford.

Katharine House Hospice is holding the Splatter Dash fun run on August 29, and is on the look out for more participants to take on the 3k obstacle challenge.

The race will be held at Stafford Common and supporters will be pelted with coloured powder while completing a course lap.

Following on from the successful launch of the event last year, which saw more than 500 people take part, the charity is hoping hundreds will sign up, raising funds for the charity which supports people suffering from progressive illness.

Events fundraiser Lisa Carson said: "It's by no means a race, there are no prizes for first place, or second or third for that matter.

"It's not about who's fittest, it's all about having fun.

"We are asking supporters to get together with family, friends and colleagues and have a good laugh whilst supporting our hospice."

She added: ""Splatter Dash is an event not to be missed.

"It really will be a great fun day out for all the family. Over 100 people of all ages have already signed up."

The event will start at 11am from Stone Road. Registration is now open.

Becky Martin, corporate fundraiser for Katharine House, said "I'd like to give special thanks to Castle Estates for sponsoring Splatter Dash 2015.

"Their sponsorship means that even more money raised from the event will go directly to providing free care for local people with life limiting illnesses."

Steve Roulstone, director of Castle Estates, added: "We are very proud to be part of Splatter Dash 2015 and to be supporting such a worthy cause".

Katharine House Hospice provides free care for local people living with a progressive illness and support for their families.

Each year it costs the Hospice £2.7m to provide care and 75 per cent of the funds required are donations.

To take part in the race costs £10 for under 16's, £15 for adults and groups of six or more can take part for £10 per person.
