Brownhills shop worker threatened with knife in attempted robbery

A shop worker was threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery at a Brownhills store.

A man demanded money from the till of Card Factory in High Street yesterday, but fled empty handed.

Police arrived at the scene within five minutes and are now trawling through CCTV footage.

West Midlands Police spokesman Brigg Ford said: "Police were called to Card Factory in Brownhills High Street just after 1.30pm on Friday where a man had threatened a shop assistant with a knife and demanded money from the till.

"Within five minutes officers were at the scene searching the surrounding area, but no arrest has been made.

"Officers are now trawling CCTV and forensic evidence has been taken after the man made off empty-handed."
