Staff from Barclays Bank and Lloyds Bank are lending a hand at Sycamore Adventure on the Old Park Farm estate.

They have been on site this week to revamp facilities and do some spring cleaning in the play barn.

The volunteering days are part of the Give and Gain Day project, which sees hundreds of companies across the globe giving their employees a chance to take time out of work to lend a hand in the community. Tony Oakman, strategic director for people services, said: "Sycamore Adventure is a fantastic indoor and outdoor play facility and has thousands of visitors from across the borough every year."

The two banks will also be making a cash contribution to Sycamore Adventure to help renew and repair toys.

The centre includes a desert island complete with boat, hammocks and a palm tree, a carved wooden dragon where children can enjoy storytelling sessions, an indoor play barn, cantilever swing, a mini waterfall and go-karts.

It provides free play to Dudley borough children and young people.
