Woman taken to hospital after car bursts into flames during rush-hour

A woman was taken to hospital after her car burst into flames on a busy route during rush hour near Albrighton.

The car caught fire on the A41 Kingswood Road, near the junction with County Road, at around 8.30am this morning.

Firefighters put out the blaze, while paramedics treated a woman at the scene before taking her to hospital.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Chris Kowalik, said: "We were called to the A41 Kingswood Road after reports of a car fire.

"A community paramedic, an ambulance crew and an area support officer attended the scene.

"A woman with minor injuries was taken to hospital."

Investigations are taking place to determine how the fire started.
