The man who is believed to have driven himself to the fast food restaurant in Wolverhampton Road having suffered the injuries elsewhere remains in a stable condition in hospital.

Officers were called to the restaurant just after 5.30pm on Tuesday where they found the man with multiple stab wounds. He was then taken to hospital and the restaurant was closed.

The area was sealed off as police attempted to find out what had happened before the man arrived at the McDonald's restaurant at the Birchley Island.

A police spokesman said today: "A 32-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is helping with enquiries."
