Bangla Line Ltd in Bentley Lane Industrial Estate was shut after rat faeces was found on the floor of the storage warehouse along with large holes.

A hygiene emergency prohibition notice was served and approved at the town's magistrates court yesterday.

David Elrington, environmental health manager at Walsall Council, said: "Rodents in any food premises is a serious business.

"Rats spread diseases such as Leptospira, their faeces contaminate food products, and their gnawing also damages food stocks and property."
