The 67-year-old Brummie has already had a star presented in his home city to mark his musical achievements.

And now he has been given the 2,548th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

Lynne, who hails from Shard End, Birmingham, was joined at the ceremony by Travelling Wilburys bandmate Tom Petty and Eagles' Joe Walsh. His friends were on hand to celebrate Thursday's event. The star was unveiled in front of the iconic Capitol Records Building on Hollywood Boulevard.

Lynne, who now lives in Beverly Hills, said: "I think it's marvellous. I never would have imagined this chap from Birmingham, England, would have his name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame."

The musician was given a place on Birmingham's Broad Street Walk of Stars last year.
