Man arrested on suspicion of arson after Burntwood house fire

A 58-year-old man has been arrested following a fire at a home in Burntwood, police have said.

The man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following the blaze at the house in Leafenden Avenue on Sunday night.

Police officers and firefighters were called to the property at around 10.40pm.

The fire had been started at the front of the property.

Staffordshire Police have confirmed that nobody was injured in the blaze.

The man remains in police custody and an investigation into the incident has been launched.

Firefighters from Aldridge, Lichfield and Chase Terrace were called to the fire. The blaze was out and a woman had fled the two-storey house by the time crews arrived.
