RP Tooling makes injection-moulded components and prototypes for companies in a wide range of industries and is planning to expand after moving into Building 54 on the Pensnett Estate.

It has signed a 10-year lease with London & Cambridge Properties (LCP), which owns and manages the 185-acre Pensnett business estate. The move to its new 24,207 sq ft unit gives RP Tooling more than three times the space of its previous premises.

It is also planning to take on an additional 10 members of staff following the move. The firm currently employs around 33 people.

Darren Withers, director at RP Tooling, said the unit appealed because it was in an ideal location and because it had been extensively refurbished, with a new roof and fully redecorated offices.

"We had been looking for some time to find the right premises with the specification we needed to grow the business," he said.

Andrew Preston, industrial property manager at LCP, said: "It's yet another success story for manufacturing in the Black Country and I am very pleased we were able to accommodate RP Tooling."
