Emergency Services were called to the junction between the A41 and A464 in Codsall at around 11am this afternoon after two cars collided.

A passenger of one of the vehicles had to be cut free by fire crews and was taken to New Cross Hospital with neck injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to New Cross for minor leg injuries.

West Midlands Ambulance spokesman Jamie Arrowsmith said: "On arrival, crews discovered two cars with front end damage and it quickly became evident that one of the patients, a woman in her 60s, was going to have be helped out of her vehicle.

"Ambulance staff worked closely with the fire service to cut the woman, who was a passenger, out of the car. She was immobilised with the use of a scoop stretcher and treated for neck and back pain. The driver of the car was uninjured.

"The driver of the second car, a woman in her 60s, managed to free herself from the vehicle. She was also immobilised with the use of a scoop stretcher and treated for minor leg injuries and chest pain.

"Both patients were then transported to New Cross Hospital."
