Fire crews battle three blazes - all reported within four minutes

Fire crews were tonight tackling three fires reported within four minutes of each other.

The first fire was called in at 9.17pm at a property in New England Close, Oldbury. Nobody is believed to have been injured.

Three minutes later crews were alerted to a fire in Aberdeen Street, Winson Green, after which two women were treated having inhaled smoke.

And at 9.21pm a third flat fire was reported in Badsey Road, Oldbury, in which a man suffered superficial burns to his forearm.

A total of seven crews from Oldbury, Smethwick, Haden Cross and Ladywood were called in to tackle the fires.
