Norovirus closes bays at Wolverhampton's New Cross Hospital

A norovirus outbreak is continuing at Wolverhampton's New Cross Hospital with bays still closed in two separate wards.

The winter vomiting bug struck last month and it is the hospital's third outbreak in just eight months.

Three wards were affected at first but that is now down to two, both trauma and orthopaedic wards.

Two bays remain closed in ward A5 and one bay is closed in A6.

Visiting restrictions remain in place and people are being urged not to visit the hospital if they have symptoms of diarrhoea or vomiting.

No patients have been left seriously unwell by the bug.

The hospital has endured two norovirus outbreaks since last August.

The second lasted for two months with the hospital giving the all-clear just before Christmas.
