Pople travelling from Birmingham to London have been made to pay the most since 2010, a study has shown.

The teenager was travelling between Lichfield City and Lichfield Trent Valley stations when she was approached by two males who sat down opposite her.

British Transport Police said one of the youths touched the girl's leg, while the second grabbed her coat and tried to pull her down when she attempted to move away from them.

The incident happened at about 4pm on March 9.

Pc Phillip Baker said: "As the girl was struggling, a woman travelling in the same carriage shouted at the youths who then released the victim and allowed her to leave the train.

"There is no doubt that the women's intervention helped the girl and I would like to trace her to speak to her about what happened."

"I also want to trace the two youths and have good descriptions which may help identify them.

"The first was white, about 17 years old and was wearing a black puffer body warmer with a hood, a dark blue hoodie and dark blue or black tracksuit bottoms.

"The second was about the same age and was wearing a dark blue hoodie and black velvet tracksuit bottoms."
