The Voice final: Willenhall's Sasha Simone misses out

Black Country singer Sasha Simone tonight missed out on becoming the winner of The Voice.

The 25 year-old, was is originally from Willenhall, made it through to the final four of the hit BBC show and impressed with her performances of What I Did for Love and then Chain of Fools with her mentor Sir Tom Jones.

But the former Pool Hayes Arts and Community School pupil who attended a homecoming at Walsall town hall earlier this week, failed to reach it to the last two in the grand final following the public vote.

Sir Tom told her he was very proud of her while fellow judge Rita Ora described the bricklayer by trade as an "amazing vocalist."

After being pipped to the crown as winner, Sasha thanked Sir Tom for all he had done for her and praised her sister for getting her to take part.

This year's winning track, which will be available from midnight, is a cover of Lost Stars, which was originally by Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine.
