HomeServe recruits again
HomeServe is expanding its Walsall-based workforce by 20 per cent, as it starts the search for more call centre and sales workers.
The home emergency cover business is taking on an extra 195 people for its head office in Walsall. It already employs more than 1,000 people in the town.
It yesterday issued a trading update for the year to the end of March and said trading across the group in the final important quarter of the year had been good, with retention and marketing activities performing well.
"Our UK business is now expected to end the year with 2.1m customers and we continue to see pleasing levels of customer growth across our international businesses," it said.
The firm is holding employment open days at its base at Cable Drive on April 15 from 5pm to 8pm and April 18 from 10am to 2pm.
The company's resources officer Maria Davies said: "They are an opportunity for people to come and have a chat and find out more about the roles."
HomeServe, which operates seven days a week, expected to gain 300,000 new customers in the UK in the next financial year.
Last year it was fined £30.6m by the Financial Conduct Authority after a two-year probe into mis-selling at the company, which axed hundreds of jobs in 2012 and temporarily halted marketing as it sought to put things right.
HomeServe expects to announce its preliminary results on May 19.
