Lorry wedged against Black Country house after driver misjudged manoeuvre

A lorry was left in a tight spot when it became wedged against a house in the Black Country after a driver misjudged a manoeuvre.

Firefighters were called to help free the HGV lorry which was stuck against the property in Brierley Hill.

They helped the driver remove the vehicle from Blythill Drive on Tuesday night.

The residents of the house were thought to be out at the time. No-one was injured in the incident.

West Midlands Fire Service spokesman Matthew Smith, said: "Fire crews from Brierly Hill were called to the scene by police at around 6.30pm on Tuesday.

"Two engines and eight firefighters attended to assist the lorry driver in freeing the vehicle."

Sian Frederick, aged 23, a resident of Blythill Drive, said her boyfriend had witnessed the incident.

She said: "My boyfriend came from work and saw police, ambulances and fire engines outside the house.

"He said the lorry driver came down the street to turn around and seemed to misjudge his angle when reversing."
