170 jobs created at two new Walsall town centre stores

Around 170 jobs will be created at two new Walsall town centre stores which will open for business soon.

Adverts are being posted for 150 roles at Primark and 20 at the Midcounties Co-op Food. The stores are being built in the Old Square Shopping Centre off Bridge Street.

Job hunters are being urged to book places at application information sessions and training courses that will be held to help attract potential workers.

Walsall Council's Walsall Works team said the application forms will be available from April 16.

The town hall has put in £8 million from its own reserves to kick-start the long-awaited scheme as part of a £21m revamp of the centre.
