The incident happened on Rocky Lane, West Bromwich, close to the SIG Interiors warehouse on Halfords Lane, at around 3.10pm today.

The wall was left shattered and broken after the silver Ford Puma smashed through it, scattering bricks and mortar across the road and pavement.

The driver of the car did not stick around after the crash and immediately left the scene.

Spokeswoman for West Midlands Police Sarah Buxton said: "We were called to the incident on Rocky Lane after the car drove into the wall.

"The driver, who has not been identified, left the vehicle amongst the rubble and apparently jumped into another car which quickly sped away, although we have no information on the other car.

"We are currently investigating."

Sandwell Response later tweeted: "The driver helpfully left his DNA everywhere though so we'll be in touch soon."
