Brothers plead guilty after Wolverhampton policewoman dragged 35 metres by stolen car

This is the first image of two brothers who admitted their roles in an incident where a woman police officer was dragged 35 metres across a road junction by a stolen car.

Pc Buryana was hit by a stolen Ford Fiesta and dragged over the crossroads of Willenhall Road and Neachells Lane, Wednesfield, on December 2.

She suffered muscular and soft tissue injuries as a result of the incident.

Donovan Icke, aged 20, of High Road, Willenhall, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm, aggravated vehicle taking and driving without a licence or insurance at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

His 21-year-old brother Daniel, of Clarence Road, Bilston, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking.

The court heard that the car had been stolen, along with a television, from a house in Lyndale Drive, Wednesfield, between midnight and 4am.

The injured officer was on patrol in a police car when the Ford Fiesta was spotted.

The officer and her colleague got out of their vehicle and went to open the driver's door when the car was put into reverse and struck her.

The other officer was also taken to hospital and treated for shock and minor injuries.

The car careered over a central reservation and came to a halt when it struck a wall.

Several members of the public, including a lorry driver and two commuters, came to the aid of the stricken officers.

Their actions were praised by investigators at the time.

Following the incident Neachells Lane was sealed off for several hours while forensic experts examined the scene.

The Icke brothers were given conditional bail.

They will appear at the same court for sentencing on March 18.
