Ward 12, an acute medicine ward (emergency admissions), and Swift Discharge Suite have been closed to patient admissions, transfers and visitors.

Last week a number of bays on other affected wards were also closed in a bid to contain the spread of the virus.

Amir Khan, medical director and director of infection control and prevention at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust said: "We would urge anyone thinking of visiting friends and relatives on Ward 12 and Swift Discharge Suite to call ahead and discuss with the Sister in charge to make arrangements to visit. We also advise that you do not bring children into the hospital to visit. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this will cause."

If you have concerns about not being able to visit friends or relatives you can contact the nurse in charge by calling the switchboard on 01922 721172.
