Little Bengal in Blackwood Road, Streetly, was shut after officers served a hygiene emergency prohibition notice over fears that the takeaway posed a serious risk to the public's health.

Evidence was presented at Walsall Magistrates Court and they confirmed the closure notice had been correctly served.

Environmental health officer Neil Harris said: "It is quite serious finding rodents in any food premises."
