Driver trapped in car after after Willenhall crash

A man had to be removed through the boot of his car after it left the road and became trapped in a bush in Willenhall.

Firefighters were called to the scene near the Portobello island by police about 9.40am today and two fire appliances were dispatched.

They had to use small tools to remove the back seats and the boot contents of the Vauxhall Vectra to get the man out on a longboard.

A community paramedic and ambulance also arrived at the scene and the casualty was treated for a back injury and taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.

Firefighters continued to make the area safe and left the area about 10.30am.
