Carer accused of neglecting woman, aged 88

A carer has appeared in court over allegations she failed to adequately look after an 88-year-old woman with severe difficulties.

Julie Hamilton appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court yesterday charged with two counts of wilful neglect of Winifred Stolarski between December 1, 2013 and June 12 last year.

The 53-year-old, of Hunts Lane in Short Heath, was employed by care agency Complete Care, in Willenhall, but has since resigned.

She will next to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing on March 17.

The magistrates granted her conditional bail.
