Boy, 11, hit by car on main road in Coseley

An 11-year-old boy was injured after being knocked down by a car in Coseley today.

The incident happened at around 3.25pm today on the Birmingham New Road.

The boy suffered leg injuries but they are not thought to be serious.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman Suzie Wheaton said: "We received a call from a bystander who told us a young boy had been injured by a car.

"One ambulance was dispatched and the young boy was conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital with injuries to his leg that are not thought to be major."

The driver of the car was not injured.
