Detectives launched an inquiry after several people contacted the police last year to report that they had lost money after following up an advert on Facebook for holidays in Rhyl and Devon.

Would-be holidaymakers informed police that they had paid deposits for stays in a caravan but then heard nothing back and they later discovered the holidays did not exist and they had lost their money.

Police visited an address in Barleyfield Road, Caldmore on Wednesday and arrested 26-year-old Kirsty Burge on suspicion of money laundering.

Unemployed Burge was subsequently charged with five counts of acquiring, using and possessing criminal property and was bailed to appear before Walsall Magistrates Court on February 10.
